MAIN GOALS:
- Preserve and defend Cuban artistic values and literature all over the world;
- Promote the creation of artistic and literary works and experimental projects, fostering the cultural development of its members and of all Cuban people;
- Create links of cooperation with other cultural organizations and istitutions, both national and international in order to carry out its cultural projects.
The association has more than 3500 members who are spread among 14 districts all over the country and in the special municipality named Isla de la Juventud.
The national office of the Association is in Pabellón Cuba, which is the central office in Vedado (Havana). The Association has also several Casas del Joven Creador that are used as branches in the districts and in some municipalities, where the main cultural activities are periodically performed. Their goal is to create a link between young artists and the public through experimental artistic works.
More than 90 events organized all over the country (scholarships, prizes and competitions promoted by this Organization) form a system of cultural promotion that tries to introduce the work of young writers and artists in the most different scenarios.
Also musical styles such as Trova, Rock and Rap found in AHS a chance to access in the professional field and obtain the interest of the public. They are now very popular among the youngest and represent the area where the Organization can better improve.
As a result, it is a vital force of Cuban culture attracts the consent of artists and younger public.
The spaces conquered by the organization over the these years are numerous and different. The AHS estabilished a system of priorities, focusing on the circuit of Las Casas del Joven Creador, developed all over the country, on the awarding of scholarships and prizes for artistic works, and also on frequent organizations of events, exibitions, concerts, educational trips and cultural exchanges.
